Restream
Streaming platform
Restream is the layer I use when I want to broadcast live builds, launches, or office hours across multiple platforms at once. It handles multi-streaming, graphics, chat aggregation, and post-stream analytics so I can focus on the content rather than juggling OBS profiles for every platform. (restream.io)
Why it’s handy
- One stream, many destinations. Simulcast to YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, custom RTMP targets, etc., without taxing your machine.
- Unified chat & moderation. Pull chat from every platform into one window, respond inline, and pin key comments.
- Studio overlays. Restream Studio offers browser-based scenes, lower thirds, guest invites, screen share, and pre-roll video—all without local production software.
- Analytics. See per-platform performance, peak viewers, chat rates, and retention to decide where your audience actually engages.
How I use it
- AI build sessions. Stream live coding or agent demos to YouTube + Twitch + LinkedIn simultaneously.
- Launch events. Go live on whatever platform your community lives on without duplicating work.
- Private training. Use custom RTMP endpoints (e.g., to out-of-the-box webinar tools) while still recording a master feed.
Getting started
- Sign up at restream.io and connect your destinations (YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Either stream via Restream Studio (browser-based) or keep using OBS/Streamlabs/Loopback and point your RTMP output to Restream.
- Configure graphics, scenes, and chat widgets, then schedule events or go live immediately.
- After each stream, review the analytics dashboard to see which destinations pulled the most engagement.
